Greetings:

The Sandwich Fair this year is now history but what a Great Fair it was.  The DeKalb County Republican Central Committee sponsored the tent at our usual high traffic area located near one of the Fairs' biggest attractions, the "Little Train"  The weather was very good with some Summer-like days, much better than some years when we have experienced days of rain.  Thanks to Gil Morrison, the tent was prepared and set up to cope with any type of weather. 

Overall attendance at the Fair was down this year from previous years, however there was a lot of activity at our tent and the response was great from those who stopped to chat or participate in our Presidential Straw Poll.  Many Office holders and candidates both State-wide and County-wide supplied us with literature and campaign items to distribute to the public.  We want to thank all those who participated for their contributions and a special thanks to those who spent time in the tent to meet and greet the public.

On behalf of the Republican Central Committee, I want to thank Gil Morrison who has chaired this this event for the past several years. This is a huge undertaking and Gil does it masterfully.   I also want to thank Kathy Busch for  the outstanding  job in coordinating the set-up, decorating and display of the office holder and candidate photos and profiles.  The overall patriotic theme was very tastefully and professionally presented.  Kathy also coordinated the volunteers who staffed the booth.  Congratulations and thanks to you both for all your time and effort.

Kathy Busch forwarded the following information and results for the Presidential Straw Poll conducted during the Fair:

Our Straw Poll was a smashing success! We had 1,750 people vote in the Straw Poll.  The number one reason for not taking the Straw Poll was "they couldn't decide who to vote for because they liked so many of the candidates". We did have a large number like that.
